Teresa was born and raised in Concord, NC. Growing up on a farm, she spent most of her days outside carefully arranging found sticks, stones, and parts of old machinery into pictures long before knowing what mosaics were.
Years later, after seeing a mosaic piece of public art, she armed herself with all the library books she could find on the subject, and her passion for the art took off. After several years of making garden friendly mosaics, she discovered that she could apply translucent stained glass to another pane of clear glass to get a really nice effect. Sixteen years later and she is still creating one of a kind glass mosaics.
Teresa is a Mosaic Instructor for several schools in the Charlotte area. She has been accepted into fine art shows up and down the East Coast, won numerous awards for her mosaics, and been featured in several publications.
Recently, Teresa helped design and create a mosaic for the Arts and Science Council and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Along with continuing to create her art, she would love to get involved with more public projects.
Commissions for custom work mosaics such as window hangings, lamps, and back splashes are always welcome!
