On January first, over twelve hundred artists around the world began the “30 Paintings in 30 Days” international challenge. Like an art marathon, this requires stamina, determination and focus.
Artists create a piece of art every day for one month, photograph the piece and write a blog post to accompany it. Ciel Gallery is honored to have many artists participating in this global event! With one week left to go, we were curious how some of these stalwart individuals were feeling about the experience as they head into the home stretch.
First time participant Jen Walls finds the experience freeing. “Less thinking, more intuitive creating, experimentation and risk-taking,” she says. “The pace has forced me to pay attention to little synchronicities, which almost always lead me to the subject of the next painting.” As for making it to the finish line, Jen says, “Even though there is more pressure, I am more peaceful, less distracted and in the zone.”
